Strength — Kaiku knows your PRs
Gym training is built for lifters: daily programs, set and rep logging, automatic personal-record registry, heart rate per exercise.
Combined with Coach Intelligence, this is an intelligent coach for the gym. Kaiku knows when you take a break, when you add weight, and when your body says today is enough.
- Today's lifts are clear — no need to remember what you were doing last time.
- Weights are pre-filled from last session — adjust up or down with one tap.
Sets and reps — one tap per set
After each set, one tap finishes it. Weight, reps, and peak heart rate save automatically. The set shows a gold mark when complete.
No digging, no remembering. Kaiku knows where you are, and the next set opens ready. You can adjust weight or reps if you feel better or worse than last time.
PR registry — automatic
Kaiku notices when you beat your previous record and logs a new PR. Types: 5RM weights, 1RM estimate (Epley formula), max reps. Each dated, with comparison to the previous one.
No spreadsheet needed, no don't-forget-to-update reminders. Kaiku sees when you do something you haven't done before, and celebrates it in a way that feels like you — not a social-media meme.
Strength arc — phases 12-16-14-X
The strength arc is its own version of the Goal Arc. Phases: base (12 weeks), hypertrophy (16 weeks), strength (14 weeks), peak and meet. Kaiku adjusts volume, intensity, and exercise selection per phase.
Strength has five sub-styles: powerlifting, hypertrophy, functional, weightlifting, general strength. You choose the direction, Kaiku tailors the program to fit.
- Current phase is visible at a glance — no guessing which week you're in.
First training app where I don't need a separate spreadsheet for PRs. Kaiku notices when I lift a new max and logs it for me.
Common questions
Are there ready-made gym templates?
Yes. Kaiku suggests templates (5/3/1, GZCL, hypertrophy block), but you choose whether to use them or your own program.
Does it work without a wearable?
Yes. You can log sets by hand in the app. A wearable adds heart rate per exercise, but it's not required.
Can I import an existing program?
Yes. Tell Kaiku what you're doing, and it starts calibrating from there — with new exercises, sets, and PR tracking.
Which strength styles does Kaiku support?
Powerlifting, hypertrophy, functional, weightlifting, general strength. You pick the direction at onboarding or change it in settings.
Is the PR registry free?
Individual workouts and set logging are free. The program plus automatic PR tracking requires Premium.
